According to Navy media, the bridge had been damaged due to the inclement weather experienced in the area during the past few days. Residents had faced difficulties in using the bridge as the rising river waters of the Galathura Ganga and the strong currents triggered by heavy rains had made it impassable.

Navy's emergency responsive team made necessary repairs to the bridge with the help of residents making it usable again.
