    President vests in the public two roads developed in Nuwara Eliya Featured

    President Mahinda Rajapaksa has declared open two roads developed at a cost of 1600 million rupees to upgrade civilian life in the Nuwara Eliya District which is awakening daily. The President vested in the public yesterday the Udupussellawa Nildandahinna Wathumulla road and the Brookeside Mahakudugala High Forest Road.



    The President first declared open the Udupussellawa Nildandahinna Wathumulla road which has been widened and developed. The 25 kilometre road has been developed at a cost of 1120 million rupees. The President unveiled the plaque to a standing ovation of the public.

    Thereafter the President declared open the Brookeside Mahakudugala High Forest Road which has also been widened and developed.

    The expenditure incurred on this work was 480. This road was opened by the President to a high applause of the Tamil people.

    Minister C.B. Ratnayake, Central Province Chief Minister Sarath Ekanayake, Nuwara Eliya District Secretary D.P.G. Kumarasiri, Central Provincial Councillor S.B. Ratnayake and Presidential Chief of Staff Gamini Senarath were among those present on this occasion.
