The Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CPC) has announced a revision of fuel quotas issued under the QR code system, with the new allocations taking effect from yesterday midnight (21).
According to the CPC, fuel allowances for several vehicle categories have been increased, while quotas for some categories remain unchanged.
Under the revised system, cars will now receive 25 litres, an increase from the previous 15 litres. Three-wheelers will be allocated 20 litres, up from 15 litres, while vans will receive 50 litres, compared to the earlier 40 litres.
Motorcycles and quadricycles will now be entitled to 8 litres, increased from 5 litres.
Meanwhile, the fuel quota for buses has been significantly raised from 60 litres to 100 litres. The allocation for land vehicles has also been increased from 25 litres to 40 litres.
However, the CPC stated that the fuel quotas for lorries, which remain at 200 litres, and special purpose vehicles, which remain at 40 litres, will not be changed under the revised system.
