The classical book 'Amaradeva Maha Gandharva Vibudhayano' (Amaradeva Music Maestro and Sage of Sri Lankan Music) written by Dr. Nuwan Nayanajith Kumara will be launched on Thursday, December 10 at 3.00 p.m. at the Panibaratha Theatre, University of Visual and Performing Arts, Albert Crescent, Colombo 7.
The 1000-page book, a Surasa publication,is a biography of Pandit Amaradeva and includes a collection of rare photographs.
The keynote address of the event will be by Professor Emeritus Sunil Ariyaratne and the welcome address will be by the Vice Chancellor of the University of Visual and Performing Arts, Professor Ariyaratne Kaluarachchi.
The launch event will consist of several music and dance recitals by the undergraduates of the University of Visual and Performing Arts.
