    February 01, 2016

"Sri Lanka is one of the most peaceful and stable countries in the world today. Its citizens enjoy the benefits of peace and have complete freedom and countless opportunities to build better futures for themselves and at present there is no any international threat to national security in Sri Lanka. Likewise the government is fully committed to build a drug free country within the next few years", Shantha Bandara the Project Director of the Wayamba Province said addressing a media conference held at the Government Information Department today (01).

He pointed out that the government makes great effort to reduce the demand and supply of illegal drugs to create a drug free Sri Lanka under the instruction of President Maithripala Sirisena.

Today, Sri Lanka is a country enjoying the full benefits of peace, and it is engaged in a concerted push to accelerate its economic development and bring prosperity to its citizens. The country has much to catch up on. Three decades of conflict cost Sri Lanka countless opportunities for growth, he added.
