The “International Women's Day” National celebration in 2016 will be held on 8th March at the Weerasinghe stadium in Ampara under the patronage of the President Maithreepala Sirisena.
This year’s theme will be “Empowered Women – Sustainable Future”. The organisers expect 3,000 female participants.
According to the Minister of Women and Child Affairs Chandrani Bandara, an array of programs are planned to take place from 6th – 8th March. Women’s Health Clinics and a Trade Fair comprised with 100 exhibition stalls will be among them.
