The government had directed the PMB to purchase Samba at Rs. 50 per kilo and Nadu at Rs. 45 per kilo.
The PMB has set up 27 purchasing centres in the Anuradhapura district.

The Paddy Marketing Board (PMB) has commenced to purchase paddy from farmers in the Anuradhapura District at a guaranteed price. The PMB expects to purchase 20 metric tons of paddy from the Anuradhapura District under the scheme.
