The Disaster Management Centre says more than 18,000 persons have been affected by the inclement weather experienced in the Galle and Matara districts.
Assistant Director Pradeep Kodippili said the landslide warning issued for six districts yesterday, is still in effect. The districts are Badulla, Nuwara-Eliya, Kalutara, Galle, Matara and Hambanthota.
The Disaster Management Centre (DMC) cautions the residents living in low-lying areas of the Ging and the Nilwala Rivers to be vigilant as the water levels of these two rivers are in the rise.
