The construction of a new road along Polduwa – Udumulla, to reduce traffic congestion and to make more efficient the transport system of the economic capital of Sri Jayawardhenapura Kotte, commenced on Saturday under the patronage of President Maithripala Sirisena.
The project jointly carried out by the Urban Development Authority and Road Development Authority under the guidance of Minister of Megapolis and Western Development is estimated to cost Rs.316 million.
The road with 4-lanes will enable the public to travel conveniently to Malabe, Kaduwela and Kelaniya without entering Battaramulla town.
