    Correct exercises and good habits prevents non- communicable diseases - Minister Ranavaka

    The Minister of Megapolis and Western Development Patali Champika Ranawaka said correct exercises and good health habits are important to prevent and control the non- communicable diseases, which is one of the key issues among the identified issues in the health sector.

    He stated this yesterday (07) participating at the inauguration of the "Suwatha Kawa" (Health Circles) programme organized by the Ministry of Megapolis and Western Development at the Independent Square walking path in Colombo on Saturday morning (07).

     

    The 'Suwatha Kawaya' programme aims at bringing together the users of the walking path and to form a committee among them to protect and develop the walking paths.


    President Maithripala Sirisena will be the chief advisor to the newly elected committee while Secretary Hettiarachchi will also act as an advisor.

     

    The committee officials including the president, secretary, treasurer and 10 committee members were also appointed during the event.

     

    Minister of Sports Dayasiri Jayasekara, Secretary to the President PB Abeykoon, tri-forces commanders, distinguished guests, organizers and a large number of people who patronize the walking paths were also present at the occasion.
