Government has taken steps to conduct a project to develop roads in Central and Sabaragamuwa Provinces with the assistants of China Development Bank.
It is expected to develop 20 roads of 128.85 km in length in Central and Sabaragamuwa Provinces under the rehabilitation of roads under China Development Bank funded priority roads project 3 – PHASE II.
The proposal made by Minister of Higher Education and Highways Lakshman Kiriella was approved by the Cabinet of Ministers.
The Government official news portal is maintains by the New Media Unit of the Department of Government Information and it was titled "news.lk" and commenced in mid1996 and release to Internet from March 01st, 1997.
