The project Under Transforming the School Education System as the Foundation of a Knowledge Hub Project (TSEP) (2012-2017), Sri Lanka aided by World Bank and Australian Aided (Aus-DFAT) was successfully implemented from year 2012 to date.
TSEP which was due to be concluded by 30th June, 2017 has been extended for another year from 1st July, 2017 to 30th June, 2018.
In the meantime, the World Bank has given their consent to provide continuous support to the government for the implementation of education sector development programs during the next medium-term from 2018- 2024.
The Government official news portal is maintains by the New Media Unit of the Department of Government Information and it was titled "news.lk" and commenced in mid1996 and release to Internet from March 01st, 1997.
News.lk publishes in three languages – Sinhala, Tamil and English.
