The U.S. Embassy and the American Chamber of Commerce Sri Lanka (AmCham) are jointly organizing a U.S.Trade Show to be held on September 29th at 10.00 am to 7.30 pm in the Hilton Residence, Colombo.

The Trade Show will introduce Sri Lankan consumers and businesses to a comprehensive selection of American products, equipment, technology, and services, further strengthening the longstanding commercial relations between Sri Lanka and the United States.

"Sri Lanka's outstanding private sector holds great potential for U.S. companies to engage in win/win partnerships in tourism, business services, transportation, manufacturing, logistics, energy, and food and beverage, just to name a few," said Allison Areias-Vogel, Economic and Commercial Counselor at the U.S. Embassy.

"Promising opportunities exist for domestic and regional expansion, taking advantage of Sri Lanka's attractive location in South Asia and long history of doing business with American companies. American firms provide world-class quality at a competitive cost, and also transfer technology, protect intellectual property, support corporate social responsibility, and contribute to a healthy investment.

A large number of U.S. companies will showcase their products and services with creative, informative stalls at the Show.

Some of the U.S. companies or their agents participating at this event are 3M, Washington Apple Commission, Discovery International, Infotechs, East West Foods, Commercial Lynks, Pepsico, Coca Cola, Dupont, Sunpower, and Aitken Spence.

Commenting on the event, Suren Rajanathan, President of the American Chamber of Commerce in Sri Lanka said, "U.S.Trade Show2014 will be an ideal opportunity to showcase bilateral trade, especially in the import, export, education, and investment spheres between the two countries."
