This weekly fair will be well designed to suit the public and will be environmentally friendly. Consumers and producers in the remote rural areas will benefit out of this project.

The Urban Development Authority has taken steps to setup the largest weekly fair in Sri Lanka in Hettipola at a cost of Rs.180 million.
