    November 17, 2014

The Ministry of Agriculture has taken steps to launch a bee keeping village program in the Puttalam and Kurunegala districts to raise the villagers living standards, the Wayamba Agriculture Ministry revealed.

The program targets house-wives and women who could make the bee hives at home. They could earn about Rs. 15,000 to Rs. 20,000 per month by selling bee's honey.

Boxes for bee keeping were distributed at Alawwa, under the patronage of NWP Agriculture Minister Sanath Nishanta Perera.
