As per the said plan, a sum of Rs 390,000.00 was to be apportioned for each house of which Rs. 200,000.00 would be given as a loan and Rs, 190,000.00 as a grant. The construction of the house is to be carried out with the technical assistance of the National Housing Development Authority and the labour contribution of the beneficiary.

When the housing project for the estate community was about to be launched, a number of problems arose as regards the ownership of the lands. Therefore, it is hoped to implement the expected housing development without any impediment by expanding this project to cover the development of small plantation house and the houses of estate workers residing outside plantations.
