The Met Dept. in its weather forecast issued today says Southwest monsoonal winds can strengthen up to 50 kmph at times over the country (particularly over central hills) and Western and Southern sea areas.
Also showers will occur at several places in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Northwestern, Central provinces and in the Galle and Matara districts. Thundershowers may develop at a few places in the Eastern and Uva provinces during the afternoon or evening.
