A special lecture on the importance of using organic fertilizer

The Senior Lecturer of the pedology Department in University of Peradeniya, Chandi Rajapakshe shows that healthy organisms destroy by changing soil PH value due to adding more fertilizer to the soil and through that increase the environmental pollution.

She stated this while a special speech made at the Matale District Agricultural Committee Meeting last day.

Speaking about the effects of the pesticide, she pointed out when the excess pesticide adding in to the water and it makes many unhealthy situations for humans specially it can be caused even for the Renal disease.

And further a remedy for this, enhancing the use of Organic fertilizer, makes the soil fertile, said Mrs.Rajapakshe.

Matale District secretary Neel De Alwis, Additional District Secretary Thejani Thilakarathne, Deputy Director (Agriculture) Prasanna Pallemulla, Assi.Commissioner of agrarian services P.G.Somarathne, divisional secretaries of the District and many participants were present in the meeting.
