    PM meets JICA Chairman

    Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe who is on an official visit to Japan met with the JICA Chairman Shinichi Kitaoka on Tuesday (11th April) at Imperial Hotel in Tokyo.

    Mr. Kitaoka during the discussions praised the rapid progress achieved by Sri Lanka within a short period of time establishing the economic stability in the country. He said that the initial reports on megapolis plan for Kandy as well as the light rail system are being prepared now. He said that the drafts are being done fast.

     

    It was also discussed regarding the assistance can be taken from JICA for the production of drinking water utilizing the sea water, establishing higher educational institutions, and setting up the culture center in Bogambara.
