    Govt. will provide human, physical resources to strengthen country's free health service - President Featured

    President Maithripala Sirisena said that the awareness on keeping up to date with latest medical inventions as well as medical researches and studies among medical professionals, would be of great help for the progress of mankind.

    The President made these observations addressing the Annual Conference of the Anesthesia Professionals, held at the National Hospital in Colombo.

     

    President Sirisena who visited the National Hospital on Saturday (5) was warmly welcomed by the anesthesia professionals , at the hospital premises. The President also launched the Critical Care.lk website at the venue.

     

    The President expressing his views said that even though we are a small country, we have free health service and it is a national necessity to strengthen this health service in rural areas as well as the urban areas while properly managing resources we have.

     

    He also pointed out that it is very important to have early preparations as the health service has the immense responsibility to protect the lives of the people from natural disasters which we cannot control.

     

    The President said that we can be happy, appreciate and admire regarding our free health service due to the commitment and expertise showed by the persons involved in medical field adding that the Government will take every possible step to provide human and physical resources needed to strengthen the free health service in the country.

     

    The President said that he can pay more attention regarding the issues prevailing in the health sector utilizing the knowledge he received as the Minister of Health.
