India v SL, 4th ODI - India opt to bat

    November 13, 2014

Virat Kohli won the toss and chose to bat in Kolkata, because he expected bowling conditions to be better under lights. Angelo Mathews said Sri Lanka would have batted first as well.

Both teams made substantial changes to the XIs that played in Hyderabad. Sri Lanka injected four new players into the team, with Lahiru Thirimanne, Dinesh Chandimal, Shaminda Eranga and Ajantha Mendis replacing Kumar Sangakkara, Chaturanga de Silva, Ashan Priyanjan and Lahiru Gamage.

India also made four changes, as Shikhar Dhawan and Wriddhiman Saha were rested and Ishant Sharma went out through injury. Rohit Sharma returned to the top order after a 10-week injury layoff, while allrounder Stuart Binny, legspinner Karn Sharma and batsman Robin Uthappa were also included. R Ashwin remained with the India squad, but was rested for this match.

The pitch is expected to be full of runs once more. No rain is forecast for the duration of the game.
