Aspirin Can Cure Breast Cancer says Doctors

    June 16, 2015

Washington: Researchers from a health center in Kansas, United States, proved that aspirin and other medicines with similar composition successfully aid to heal breast cancer, said today the journal Medical Press.

According to specialists in oncological research at a health center in Kansas, these drugs block malignant cells, inhibit its spread to other parts of the woman's body and help to protect the patient from metastasis.

The team led by Dr. Sushanta Banerjee said that the main problem of breast cancer is that it usually reappears after some five to 10 years.

Part of the cancer cells are stem cells that survive chemotherapy and stay at rest, when they become active they are highly aggressive tumors very hard to cure.

The research led by Banerjee showed that aspirin molecules negatively affect breast cancer's cells: exposed to large doses of aspirin they simply die and relatively low doses stop its growth.

Aspirin molecules also prevent breast tissues from becoming a type of special cancer cells able to move to other parts of the body.

According to doctors, these cells are the main cause of the revival of cancer after surgeries and chemotherapy.
