Seminar on Right to Information Act in Ratnapura

An awareness programme for journalists in the Ratnapura district on the Right to Information Act presented by the Government for parliamentary approval will be held at the Ratnapura Silveray Hotel on Sunday (29) 10.30 a.m. under the patronage of Mass Media and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Gayantha Karunatillake.

Mass Media Secretary Karunaratne Paranavithana will deliver the keynote lecture on "Right to Information Legal Principles and Practical Use".

Journalist Lal Hemantha Mawalage will speak on "Correct News Reporting and Shortcomings in Reporting" and veteran journalist and Lake House Director Editorial Saman Wagarachchi will speak on "Right to Information and Media Freedom". Acting Director General of the Government Information K. W. T. N. Amaratunga and Director of Information Wasanthapriya Ramanayake will also participate.
