    Sri Lanka to renovate Nepal's earthquake damaged two religious places

    The Buddhist temple in Swayambhunath and the Rato Machindranath Hindu kovil in Lalithpur, Nepal are most significant religious places which were damaged by the earthquake occurred in Nepal last April.

    These two religious places were selected by the Sri Lankan Government for renovations.

     

    Accordingly the Cabinet of Ministers granted its approval for the proposal submitted by the Minister of Buddha Sasana to send a group comprising respective officers and technical craftsmen to Nepal to plan the above task, to assign the construction work to the Sri Lanka Army and to allocate an additional provision of Rs. 345 million to the Ministry of Buddha Sasana in this regard.
