    National Dengue Control Week successfully concluded Featured

    National Dengue Control Week conducted from 27th Sept. to 03rd October on the instructions of Health Minister Rajitha Senarathne was successfully concluded, Health Ministry sources said.

    The program was held covering 346 MOH Divisions island-wide under high-risk, risk, and low-risk categories was assisted by the Presidential Task Force the three forces, Police, Civil Defense Force, and Field Health Staff.

     

    During the week-long program, 624,680 premises were inspected, and 98,118 premises with breeding potential were corrected. Out of those inspected premises, 2,195 premises were prosecuted while another 28,314 were noticed, the sources said.In Colombo District, 161,455 premises have been inspected and 729 were prosecuted.

     

    The authorities have identified 26 MOH Divisions in Colombo, Gampaha, Kalutara, Kandy, Rathnapura, Batticoloa, and Jaffna as  high-risk areas.

     

    According to the Director General of Health Services Dr. Palitha Mahipala, controlling of Zika, and Chikungunyais also a main objective of the program.
