    MoU between SL-Thailand for HR development in Sri Lanka Featured

    The government has decided to enter into a bilateral agreement with the government of Thailand with the aim of developing the Human Resource in the island.

    Cabinet Spokesperson Rajitha Senaratne said the bilateral technical cooperation between the governments of Sri Lanka and Thailand plays a major role in Human Resources development in Sri Lanka.

     

    The Thailand International Development Cooperation Agency (TICA) with the assistance of the Sri Lankan government has prepared a five year plan for offering scholarships and training programs to Sri Lanka during the period of 2015-2019.


    These programs will be in the fields of agriculture, food technology, rural development and self-sufficient economy, tourism management and diplomatic training.

     

    Accordingly the proposal made by Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe, in his capacity as the Minister of National Policies and Economic Affairs to sign a MoU with the Thai Government and the Thailand International Development Cooperation Agency has been approved by the Cabinet of Ministers.
