The Motor Traffic Department is moving into the future with an automated touch screen version of the driver licence exam. The Touch Screen test replaces the traditional pencil and paper exam.Transport Minister Nimal Siripala de Silva yesterday inaugurated the new automated touch screen version of the driver licence exam at the DMT’s Werehera office.

One third of prison officials suffer burnout, according to the latest survey done by Dr. Nimali Wijewardena, a Health Ministry spokesman said. The survey also revealed that 38.8 percent of prison officials suffer from a lack of self-esteem. The percentage of prison officials who showed mental fatigue is 26.9. The total number of prison and rehabilitation officials who participated in the survey is 1,803.
The department of pensions announced that Pension payments will be suspended temporally from June 2018 for the pensioners who obtain pensions via High Commissions and not submitted life certificates for the year 2018 until 25.05.2018 .
